Australis AC On Tour Contouring Kit Review and Swatches

This palette has been the most talked about "MUST HAVE" product in the Australian makeup world for the last week and I think for the next few.
It has been compared to the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette. A lot of the beauty pages I follow on Instagram were raving about it and so of course I was eager to try it.

Contour palettes are always popular. Who remembers the demand of the Face of Australia glamazon palette last year.
And I am sure this one will be just as big.

Finding a decent contour palette is always a problem for me. I can be a bit fussy. I like matte bronzers and they are hard to find. So many nice bronzers have a shimmer to them.
Also some of the highlighting colours aren't right either.

So this palette is very versatile and there will be colours for everyone

The first 3 colours along the top are the lighter colours for highlighting 2 are matte and 1 is shimmery
and the 3 on the bottom are for contouring

One swipe on my finger and I was impressed with how pigmented each colour was
shade 1 is a light pink tone highlighter
shade 2 is a yellow tone highlighter
and 3 is a beige kind of shimmer colour
Shade 4 is a red undertone brow
shade 5 is more of a flat ash brown
and shade 6 is a deeper brown

I have worn it a few times now over the last week. Still playing around with the palette. Top photo is normal foundation and in the bottom picture I had fake tanned.

The palette is available on the Australis Cosmetics website or at Priceline and retails for $16.95

NEW Sparkle Baby palette from Sugarpill First Impression and Swatches

I went to IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) a few weeks ago here in Sydney. I am a freelance makeup artist and I went to stock up on things for my kit. I pretty much got everything I needed and picked up a few more goodies I wasn't expecting to get but had to jump at the chance at getting them while I can (will do an IMATS haul post if you would like to see what I got and why)

So anyway I knew I wanted to get a few loose pigment eyeshadows from Sugarpill. Had seen so many photos on the internet of looks using them. I lined up for 50 minutes to finally reach the Sugarpill counter (normally I wouldn't do this and I didn't for MAC) but this was the first time Sugarpill came to Australia so I had to.
Anyway I got a few loose pigments, a few had already sold out :( but I then saw Kitten parade the prettiest pressed eye shadow I have seen then saw it in the Sparkle Baby palette, I had saw this on Sugarpills Instagram page the night before IMATS but had expected it to sell out....... BUT IT HADN'T!!!! So I had to get it.

This is SOOOOOOOOO pretty, the packaging is really cute....... but look at the the colours in this Palette. How stunning are they? I wasn't sure if I would use all the colours together in a look but I would use them with other products to achieve a look especially Kitten Parade.

Kitten Parade: Soft peach colour with a gold shimmer. Looks amazing on blue eyes. Awesome colour to wear alone over the entire lid

Frostine: Very pretty lilac colour. Colour is very soft and pastel like but is more pigmented if worn over the top of an eye primer

Candy Crush: Soft aqua shade with a little silver shimmer. Stunning pastel shade.

Hotsy Totsy: Bright hot pink and has a little blue sparkle to it. This is the brightest shade of the four and I was worried I couldn't work this colour into a look using the other shades, but I was wrong.

I have played around with the palette and used all the colours in a few different looks. I didn't think I could pull of looks using the four colours but I can and I think they are so pretty.

To recreate this look:
Apply Kitten Parade over the entire eye lid and blend up into the crease. Using a small tapered brush I then applied Hotsy Totsy into the crease and blend up towards the brow. Apply more Kitten parade onto the eyelid.
On the inner corner and the brow bone I applied Frostine.
Along the lower lash line I used Candy crush.
I finished the look with a black winged eyeliner, mascara and then false lashes.

To recreate this look:
I applied Candy Crush over my eye lid and blend it into my crease. I then applied Hotsy Totsy in my crease and blended up. I then pressed Sugarpills Lucid loose pigment over the top of Candy Crush to intensify the colour.
I  applied Frostine on my brow bone and inner corner and Kitty Parade along my lower lash line
Apply black liner along my top lash line and coat my lashes with Mascara and apply Fake lashes.

And the last look is the easiest

I kept this look simple as it was the first look i did do using the palette. But I applied Kitten Parade over my eyelid and blended it up into my crease. I then applied a loose soft gold shimmer into the corner of my eye
I applied mascara. I was and eyeliner to top and bottom of my lash line and then lightly applied Kitten parade along my lower lash line

I really am impressed with how versatile these colours are. I am still trying different looks so if you want to see more follow me on instagram: @claudaciousmakeup

Until next time xox

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Polish Review and Swatches

The latest craze to hit Australia for nails is Gel Polish but without the use of a light to set it.

Revlon have had their Colorstay range with a gel like shine for a long time, but 2 or 3 months ago they released a new range to replace this.

Welcome Colorstay Gel Envy Polish

The formula is a two step process a colour with a built in base coat and then a separate top coat which adds a diamond like shine and strength to your nails. The top coat is a must without it the colour doesn't last as long and doesn't have the shine the top coat provides.

I have six shades from the 30 available so far and still deciding if I want more (I have a lot of nail polishes)
I love the brush, it's double barrel so with one application it can cover your whole nail. Colour wise I only needed 2 light coats to get the desired colour that is true on the bottle.

A closer look at the colour:

Wild Card
This is the perfect blue. Cobalt blue. Very popular shade and has sold out a few times in store.

All In
Is a dark blue but has a shimmer to it. In the light you will see purple, deep blue and a black hint through it

Full House
My favourite colour LOVE this shade!!! Perfect shade for Spring and Summer. The only thing is I did find this colour to stain my nails.

Winning Streak
WOW what a pretty lavender/ lilac shade. Only need 2 coats to achieve this shade. I think this is perfect for Spring

Casino Lights
When I first saw this shade I loved it, hadn't seen this shade of yellow, but because I am pale I dont like it as much on against my skin. Maybe if I am tanned it would look OK

Hot Hand
Pretty Pink. I personally don't like pink nail polish. I generally wear deep cooler tones but I loved this shade of pink. I thought of summer and would look pretty on my toes (I wear any shade on my toes) and it has hint of gold shimmer through it

This polish  is so easy to remove. You just need a normal nail polish. One with acetone does work better.

For someone like me who works  in retail and with stock everyday finding a nail polish that would last a week without chipping and ruining my nails was really hard. Until this range. I can get 2 weeks out of my nails now before they start to look chipped and ugly.

So if you want to save some money from get shellac done atthe salon give Revlon Gel Envy a try.

Until next time xox
