L'Oreal Glam Matte Review + swatches

These lipsticks are new and I got these a few weeks ago now and was really impressed. It's a liquid matte lipstick. Hence the name.
I always struggle to find a decent matte lipstick especially in a liquid form as they dry my lips.

For a matte lipstick it felt really nice on my lips and didn't feel dry. It wore really well, felt soft and creamy and lasted for ages.

I have 2 shades so far 513 Zip It Rouge and 508 Coral Denimista

I wore the Zip It Rogue to try them out. It lasted for hours on my lip I love the doe applicator as I was able to apply to my lips perfectly. Felt good on my lips for the 6 hours I wore it (I didn't even need a gloss to hydrate my lips while it was on) The colours are really pigmented and one coat gives such good colour.

There are 5 colours in the range and now I have these 2 I think I might get the orange for summer.

RRP $21.95

Rimmel Provocalips First Impression and Swatches

Rimmel have finally jumped on the band wagon and released double ended long wearing liquid lipsticks.
Now I will be straight up and honest, I am not a fan of this type of lipstick. I can't handle my lips drying out.

But I thought I would do a swatch and review of them anyway

Packaging is cute and the colours are really nice and all wearable shades to suit most people.

I decided to test out "Dare to Pink" for the afternoon at work when it first came in. It's a really pretty soft pink. A very nice neutral every day colour. After 3 hours it felt dry on my lips but I applied more clear gloss over the top.
By the time I removed my makeup at about 8pm that night the lipstick was still on. I applied it at about 12pm and had lunch, dinner and a coffee and the colour was still on my lips.

I much prefer moist lipsticks but I do like some of these shades and may just have to apply lots of lip balm to my lips while wearing them. I was really impressed with how long they last and they are quiet affordable compared to a few other "drugstore" brands that are more expensive.

RRP $17.95 available at Priceline

Colours:

Skinny Dipping

Make Your Move

I'll Call You

Dare To Pink

Little Mix

Kiss Me You Fool

Play With Fire

Kiss Fatal

Australis AC On Tour Contouring Kit Review and Swatches

This palette has been the most talked about "MUST HAVE" product in the Australian makeup world for the last week and I think for the next few.
It has been compared to the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette. A lot of the beauty pages I follow on Instagram were raving about it and so of course I was eager to try it.

Contour palettes are always popular. Who remembers the demand of the Face of Australia glamazon palette last year.
And I am sure this one will be just as big.

Finding a decent contour palette is always a problem for me. I can be a bit fussy. I like matte bronzers and they are hard to find. So many nice bronzers have a shimmer to them.
Also some of the highlighting colours aren't right either.

So this palette is very versatile and there will be colours for everyone

The first 3 colours along the top are the lighter colours for highlighting 2 are matte and 1 is shimmery
and the 3 on the bottom are for contouring

One swipe on my finger and I was impressed with how pigmented each colour was
shade 1 is a light pink tone highlighter
shade 2 is a yellow tone highlighter
and 3 is a beige kind of shimmer colour
Shade 4 is a red undertone brow
shade 5 is more of a flat ash brown
and shade 6 is a deeper brown

I have worn it a few times now over the last week. Still playing around with the palette. Top photo is normal foundation and in the bottom picture I had fake tanned.

The palette is available on the Australis Cosmetics website or at Priceline and retails for $16.95

NEW Sparkle Baby palette from Sugarpill First Impression and Swatches

I went to IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) a few weeks ago here in Sydney. I am a freelance makeup artist and I went to stock up on things for my kit. I pretty much got everything I needed and picked up a few more goodies I wasn't expecting to get but had to jump at the chance at getting them while I can (will do an IMATS haul post if you would like to see what I got and why)

So anyway I knew I wanted to get a few loose pigment eyeshadows from Sugarpill. Had seen so many photos on the internet of looks using them. I lined up for 50 minutes to finally reach the Sugarpill counter (normally I wouldn't do this and I didn't for MAC) but this was the first time Sugarpill came to Australia so I had to.
Anyway I got a few loose pigments, a few had already sold out :( but I then saw Kitten parade the prettiest pressed eye shadow I have seen then saw it in the Sparkle Baby palette, I had saw this on Sugarpills Instagram page the night before IMATS but had expected it to sell out....... BUT IT HADN'T!!!! So I had to get it.

This is SOOOOOOOOO pretty, the packaging is really cute....... but look at the the colours in this Palette. How stunning are they? I wasn't sure if I would use all the colours together in a look but I would use them with other products to achieve a look especially Kitten Parade.

Kitten Parade: Soft peach colour with a gold shimmer. Looks amazing on blue eyes. Awesome colour to wear alone over the entire lid

Frostine: Very pretty lilac colour. Colour is very soft and pastel like but is more pigmented if worn over the top of an eye primer

Candy Crush: Soft aqua shade with a little silver shimmer. Stunning pastel shade.

Hotsy Totsy: Bright hot pink and has a little blue sparkle to it. This is the brightest shade of the four and I was worried I couldn't work this colour into a look using the other shades, but I was wrong.

I have played around with the palette and used all the colours in a few different looks. I didn't think I could pull of looks using the four colours but I can and I think they are so pretty.

To recreate this look:
Apply Kitten Parade over the entire eye lid and blend up into the crease. Using a small tapered brush I then applied Hotsy Totsy into the crease and blend up towards the brow. Apply more Kitten parade onto the eyelid.
On the inner corner and the brow bone I applied Frostine.
Along the lower lash line I used Candy crush.
I finished the look with a black winged eyeliner, mascara and then false lashes.

To recreate this look:
I applied Candy Crush over my eye lid and blend it into my crease. I then applied Hotsy Totsy in my crease and blended up. I then pressed Sugarpills Lucid loose pigment over the top of Candy Crush to intensify the colour.
I  applied Frostine on my brow bone and inner corner and Kitty Parade along my lower lash line
Apply black liner along my top lash line and coat my lashes with Mascara and apply Fake lashes.

And the last look is the easiest

I kept this look simple as it was the first look i did do using the palette. But I applied Kitten Parade over my eyelid and blended it up into my crease. I then applied a loose soft gold shimmer into the corner of my eye
I applied mascara. I was and eyeliner to top and bottom of my lash line and then lightly applied Kitten parade along my lower lash line

I really am impressed with how versatile these colours are. I am still trying different looks so if you want to see more follow me on instagram: @claudaciousmakeup

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Polish Review and Swatches

The latest craze to hit Australia for nails is Gel Polish but without the use of a light to set it.

Revlon have had their Colorstay range with a gel like shine for a long time, but 2 or 3 months ago they released a new range to replace this.

Welcome Colorstay Gel Envy Polish

The formula is a two step process a colour with a built in base coat and then a separate top coat which adds a diamond like shine and strength to your nails. The top coat is a must without it the colour doesn't last as long and doesn't have the shine the top coat provides.

I have six shades from the 30 available so far and still deciding if I want more (I have a lot of nail polishes)
I love the brush, it's double barrel so with one application it can cover your whole nail. Colour wise I only needed 2 light coats to get the desired colour that is true on the bottle.

A closer look at the colour:

Wild Card
This is the perfect blue. Cobalt blue. Very popular shade and has sold out a few times in store.

All In
Is a dark blue but has a shimmer to it. In the light you will see purple, deep blue and a black hint through it

Full House
My favourite colour LOVE this shade!!! Perfect shade for Spring and Summer. The only thing is I did find this colour to stain my nails.

Winning Streak
WOW what a pretty lavender/ lilac shade. Only need 2 coats to achieve this shade. I think this is perfect for Spring

Casino Lights
When I first saw this shade I loved it, hadn't seen this shade of yellow, but because I am pale I dont like it as much on against my skin. Maybe if I am tanned it would look OK

Hot Hand
Pretty Pink. I personally don't like pink nail polish. I generally wear deep cooler tones but I loved this shade of pink. I thought of summer and would look pretty on my toes (I wear any shade on my toes) and it has hint of gold shimmer through it

This polish  is so easy to remove. You just need a normal nail polish. One with acetone does work better.

For someone like me who works  in retail and with stock everyday finding a nail polish that would last a week without chipping and ruining my nails was really hard. Until this range. I can get 2 weeks out of my nails now before they start to look chipped and ugly.

So if you want to save some money from get shellac done atthe salon give Revlon Gel Envy a try.

Until next time xox

Review and colour swatches Revlon Moisture Stain Lipsticks

I always get excited about new products especially when Revlon bring out new lipsticks. I'm a huge fan of their colorburst crayons and now they have bought out their new moisture stains.

Liquid lipsticks are very popular at the moment so many brands are doing them but I think Revlon are always the front runners when it comes to "drugstore" long lasting lipsticks. The Colorstay range has such a good reputation that everyone knows Colourstay lasts.

When I first saw these on social media earlier this year I instantly loved the packaging the black bold outlining around the case makes it stand out and sets them apart and they also lay flat (not that exciting, but makes it easy to photograph)

I think there is something to please everyone. Reds, Pinks, Corals, Nudes and even a brown and plum. They are so pigmented that even one coat on my lips gave a decent colour but once 2 coats are applied I get amazing bright colour and a really good coverage.

THE COLOURS:

Stockholm Chic: Copper bronze brown. The packaging makes you think it will be really shimmery as there is a gold shimmer on the outside but once one it has a gold/bronze reflect.

India Intrigue: Deep Pink looks more purple......Maybe a magenta colour would be more of a correct term

Parisian Passion: Purple/Burgundy kind of colour, Pretty dark vampy kind of colour

Barcelona Nights: Hot pink colour

Shanghai Sizzle: Bright Orange/red

Cannes Crush: Pretty bright coral colour

London Posh: Peachy nude with a gold shimmer tone

LA Exclusive: Light Pink

Rio Rush: Barbie Pink. Bright hot pink

Miami Fever: Bright Orange

I love a lipstick to feel soft and moisturising and to be food proof. Which is why I love the Colorburst crayons but these are living up to their name. Once on they feel soft and moisturising. They feel more like a thick balm than a lipstick with a wet glossy finish and don't sticky. To get the best colour application apply two coats and press the product onto lips firmly with the doe-foot applicator. Its a great size and shape and the wider area lets me apply the lip colour to the wider areas of my lips easier and the tip is perfect for working around my cupids bow and corner.

At work I get lazy with reapplying lipstick I like to apply a lipstick in the morning before work, reapply at lunch and then again after work if I am going somewhere for drinks. And I can do this with these stains. I apply 2 coats before work, have a coffee, eat, drink water and talk to customers and by 10am the shine has worn off but I am still left with a nice stain one my lips.

My lips are still coloured and by lunch time its has worn off slightly but I always like to reapply my lipstick after lunch so I look fresh. Working in a shop with air conditioning my lips are always prone to drying cracking but they contain vitamin E and aloe to help keep the lips moist.

I have so many lipstick. To be honest I think my collection would be almost around 100. But I don't wear most of them some are drying and others wear off. My Colorburst crayons are my holy grail lip colours but I can see these becoming another favourite.

Revlon continue to be my favourite "drugstore" brand for lipsticks

Until next time

New Australis Velourlips swatches and reviews

The new shades from the Velourlips range by Australis arrived in Priceline stores two weeks ago and the colours are stunning. I remember the first collection of Velourlips and bought a few but they were very bright and unwearable for everyday use so they have sat in my draw for months and get pulled out on the odd occasion when I am wanting a bright intense lip.

But I am excited for these new shades which are perfect shades for spring. Soft pretty pastels

The formula to me seems so much more improved. The old ones I felt stained your lips badly even with makeup remover they were difficult to get off and felt really drying on my lips. These new shades are so much easier to remove. They are a soft creamy liquid that dries matte on the lip very quickly and last for hours.

Lun-dun:  A pretty pastel lilac, think this will be a popular colour

Ho-chee-min: Yellow toned baby pink colour

Mi-a-mee: Brightest colour from the range. Its a bright coral red

Hon-o-loo-loo: Deep beige dusty pink colour, one of my favourites love this as a nude

Mil-a-no: Nude beige shade. On me this colour looks like I have just put concealer/foundation over my lip. Was also the patchiest of all the colours

These colours along with the first velourlips collection retail for $9.95 which is very well priced.

would love to know what you think of them and what's your favourite colour

Until next time
